NNNEEEEEERRRDDDSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

AH nerdom how i love you so, so many cool things so many hobbies and fun things to read and play! Comic Books, Video Games, Role Playing Games, Sci-Fi, HUZZAH! HURRAH! 3 CHEERS! PIP PIP! Its fun to be a nerd and its so popular nowadays............................thats right popular.

Being a nerd was once something deemed horrible, terrible, inexcusable, you were picked on and pushed around just because you liked to play some Video Games or read a Comic Book. Not anymore however which is great but at the same time terrible. Allow me to explain.

Let me take you back to a time when being a nerd wasn't so nice waaaaaaaay back many many years to a time some of you may remember a time known as THE 80's..........The 80's were a grand time the music, the hair, the style, the movies, the hair, and especially the hair!

Gay clubs must have been very confusing.
Being a nerd was like a disease and every Jock in the world was out to cure anyone who fell afflicted. Nerds were a sheltered people with black rimmed glasses, pocket protectors, and lots of suspenders. It was a time when reading a comic book was for little kids and video games were nerd super science! It was a time when being a nerd as horrible as it may have been meant something. It meant you were out of the norm doing your own thing and still enjoying yourself despite the popular opinion. Nerds knew that no matter how bad they had it the others had it worse because they were boring and normal.

Fast forward to today where you can't walk two steps without seeing a Superhero somewhere or a Video Game add and see how things change. All the things growing up i considered out of the norm are now the opposite and in some ways i like alot but in other ways oh no..............

The Nerd today is glorified, its cool to be nerdy to the point where certain things have completely phased out of the whole nerd demographic. Video Games being the big contender, now everyone including Grandma can and does play them as wonderful or horrible as that might seem.

SHE'S IN ANOTHER CASTLE?! I DON"T KNOW HOW MUCH TIME I'VE GOT LEFT AND NOW YOU LAY THIS SHIT ON ME!
The bottom line is all the stuff once considered nerdy is now everyday stuff and its alittle depressing honestly. I'd much rather go down the street and see a very large smelly man in a Hulk T-shirt than some Jersey Shore wanna be sporting a Superman shirt. Why? Well for one thing it's a little tiring when something your interested in is all over the place so people assume you like it because its famous. A good example is Thor, Captain America, and Spider-man are my three all time favorite superheroes all of which have had very successful movies done. Whenever the subject of said superheroes comes up in a conversation with someone new it usually goes like this:

Me: I love Thor, Spidey, and Cap!

Person: So does everyone else those movies were great!

Me: Ya but i liked them because i read the comics

Person: They still make those?

Me: O.O

The reason i complain is because alot of what people like these things for is purely because its just so "awesome" and while yes i agree it is indeed awesome, it's awesome for different reasons people don't understand. I love Captain America because he's selfless, kind hearted, brave, and his stories over the years have shown him to be a tried and true hero. While the movies do show this it isnt to the full extent of a comic books years of back story and character development that made me fall in love with him as a character. Now hes that "red, white, and blue guy from Avengers" i honestly heard a girl say that to her friend as she wore a Captain America shirt in the mall....................

WHY WEAR A SHIRT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT?! Oh thats right i forgot it's cool now. Whats that duck face Facebook girl your wearing a Batman shirt in your picture? WOW! You must love comic books! Or not.

*sigh.* All that aside i do think its pretty cool that alot of the things i like don't seem so put offish to people anymore since they see it around them everyday atleast i don't get looks when i talk about superheroes as much anymore.
